Upgrade AbelCam
I'm just upgrading AbelCam, so I thought I drop a few lines how I proceed.
As I have AbelCam to run as a service, I have to stop it first and make sure it will run visible after installation
- first I have a look for the most recent version. Beta Versions can be found in the Issues
- After downloading the latest version to my c:\downloads folder, I
- stop the AbelCam Service ( Start, Run, services.msc, mark line AbelService, click the square (stop) symbol
- double click the installer (AbelCam...msi)
- ok, continue, upgrade to next version and so on until new version is installed (no need to remove previous)
- Start / Programs / AbelCam / Toolsl / Install AbelCam Service
this one some times triggers some more MSI installer activity, so to make sure everything is as expected I run this once
- edit and save AbelService.ini, replace UserInterface? = No with UserInterface? = Yes (I want to see what's going on)
- start AbelService
